EUAM Iraq wants to highlight two opportunities for local/Iraqi CSOs in the area of preventing and countering violent extremism (P/CVE).

We kindly ask you to share further with any relevant CSOs.

  1. Grants to local civil society organisations working on P/CVE at the community level

Facilitated by EUAM, Iraq has recently become a partner country of the Global Community Engagement & Resilience Fund (GCERF), a global fund supported by the EU and other international donors set up to provide grants to local civil society organisations working on preventing and countering violent extremism (P/CVE) at the community level. The Fund’s engagement strategy for Iraq was approved by the Governing Board in a meeting in Tunis last month, where Iraq was represented by the Chair of the National CVE Committee at ONSA.

Based on the approved engagement strategy and in consultation with the National CVE Committee, the GCERF Secretariat has developed two Expressions of Interests (EoI) for CSOs to become a GCERF grant recipient in Iraq; one focused on supporting the implementation of the national CVE strategy and the other is focused on rehabilitation and reintegration. Links for the EOIs are below; we would be grateful if you are able to share the links for the EOIs with your local, Iraqi CSO networks:

Applications close 11:59PM (CET) Thursday 27 July 2023.

Please note all questions should be addressed to the GCERF Iraq-team (Arabic-speaking) via contact.iraq@gcerf.orgnot EUAM.
