About Partner & Goal of the Project
– Peace and Freedom Organization is a civil society organization aiming to work on protecting human rights in all its aspects, building peace, promoting social cohesion, and advocating for rights and freedom of speech.
The organization operates regionally and nationally, implementing various projects that aim to protect marginalized and affected communities from wars and conflicts. It was established in 2013 by a group of academics with the objective of peacebuilding and enhancing social cohesion. Peace and Freedom Organization is a partner with several international organizations, including the International Labour Organization, Amnesty International, and USID, among others.
A brief about the activities of the project:
– The project aims to empower women and youth on United Nations Security Council Resolutions 1325 and 2250 to enhance women’s participation in the public sphere and amplify women’s voices in Iraq and the Kurdistan region.
This will be achieved through different activities, including dialogue sessions, advocacy campaigns, and researches.
Goal of the project: ” The Strengthening the Role of Women in Democratic Development and Peace Building through Advocating and Lobbying the Legislation of UN 1325 and NAP” project will contribute to; Developing the conducting of UN1325 agenda related to WPS through survey and the responses to this issue in Iraq’s National Action Plan on the Implementation of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda which will address issue of non-inclusion of women during implementation civic related activities.
