Capacity building for members from ministries Planning, Education, Awqaf and Religious Affairs, Labor and Social Affairs (MoLSA), Finance & Economy and Culture UNSCR 1325, and WPS agenda.

Accepting Others Organization (AOO) is proud to have implemented a capacity-building program for members from various ministries in Diyala, Iraq. The program was conducted in March and April of 2023 and focused on UN Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325 and the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda.

The program aimed to build the capacity of 120 women and men from the following ministries: Ministry of Planning, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (MoLSA), Ministry of Finance & Economy, and Ministry of Culture. The program was funded by Cordaid and had a total of six training sessions, each lasting one day. Each ministry member had 20 participants in their respective training sessions.

The program was designed to equip the participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively implement UNSCR 1325 and the WPS agenda in their respective ministries. The program also aimed to create a better understanding of the importance of gender equality and the role of women in peacebuilding and conflict resolution.

Throughout the program, participants engaged in various interactive and participatory sessions that focused on building their knowledge and skills on gender-sensitive approaches to planning, policymaking, and programming. They also learned about the importance of gender-sensitive data collection and analysis, as well as the role of women in peace and security.

The program was conducted in Diyala, Iraq, and was able to bring together members from various ministries, allowing for cross-sectoral learning and collaboration. The program was successful in achieving its objectives, and participants left with a better understanding of the importance of gender equality and the role of women in peacebuilding and conflict resolution.
